Given you don't need the control surface mixer itself to run the system you can just use the DSP brain module which is the computer of the system and I/O rack modules via mouse/touchpad on an old low power computer running Yamaha's app as the controller, or even substitute specific smaller digital mixers to use as a controller, the old PM1D's have a lot of studio usefulness. Having all those remote controlled pres thrown in doesn't hurt either.
